The desire to know ourselves drives the enduring interests in astrology and zodiac systems. To categorize the qualities and characteristics we possess and to explain the mysteries of our personalities, more and more systems have been developed. To me, however, the most interesting part is not the systems we build but the urge to define our innermost selves through the natural world around us. 

This book collects the animals and plants that I and others have used to describe aspects of my life and personality. It also questions the causality of my identification with these natural elements.
